CATEGORIES:
1. Composition for Solo Piano
2. Composition for Piano and Electronics
3. Composition for Piano and string trio

For all categories the complete score has to be submitted in 6 copies (and 6 copies of the electronic part on Audio-CDs respectively). The winners of the competition have to send the different written parts for each instrument of the composition by Dec. 31. 2008 in order to guarantee their performance in spring 2009.

Regarding the electronic part the organizers of the concert will only supply the amplification system for the performance. The composer is asked to bring all the other necessary equipment.

Works which have already been awarded or presented in public are not to be submitted.

TOPIC:
The compositions should be related to folkloric or classical Latin American music.

DURATION OF THE PIECE:
The length of each submitted piece can be up to 20 minutes.

ENCLOSURES:
Join a short note (not longer than one page) explaining the origin, the sources, the techniques used and an explanation of how the music is related to latin american culture.

We ask you to send SIX COPIES of the score (plus six copies of the electronic music Audio CD respectively) as well as of the program note using a pseudonym or a key word. In a closed envelope please add your personal details (address, fax, telephone number, e-mail, and photo if possible) and short curriculum vitae.

The score including all required annexes can also be sent (in separate files) as PDF-format via e-mail to the following address: euroyage@yahoo.de. The electronic part of the composition has to be uploaded - using the formats WMA or MP3 (maximum data size: 99 MB) - to www.rapidshare.com. The e-mail message that goes with the participation must contain a link for the download of the file.

Closing date for the entries: August 30, 2008

The awarded pieces will be performed in spring 2009 in Salzburg. Submitted works will not be returned.

Honorary Awards for the excellent compositions
The results of the competition will be announced in the 87th edition of the Magazín Cultural Latinoamericano XICóATL (April/June 2009).
